  1. When clicking on the embed option, having the option for the transcription below the video (displays alongside on Streams files) would be fantastic for added accessibility.

At present, I have to embed the video then send users a link to the original upload for transcript.

Having a 'display transcript' button could be added to the embed code and inserted into the iframe quite easily, giving users the option to include this.

  2. it's great that we have the offline viewing feature in the iOS & Android apps, but we need it in a Windows app too to make travel/low network access time really productive, as videos containing UI or text aren't usuable in a smartphone form factor

  3. The value of having enhanced comment handling (such as reply with quote, @mention, rich text and inline images) in Stream is the same for a stream comments as discussions in Teams, Yammer, etc.

As is, we have to manually copy/paste to quote someone and indicate the quoted text label. We can't emphasize content using bold, italic, color or font. these limitations make collaboration harder and communication less effective.

  4. At the moment the Streams app allow you to upload video's but you have no influence on where they are uploaded. The app should allow you to browse to a group or (team) channel and upload your video there.

  5. At present, Live Events are only available for those with Enterprise Licensing. However even small businesses under the Microsoft 365 Business licensing models should be able to access this functionality.

Further, I have been advised that the Stream Add-On does not allow for Live Events functionality (erroneously documented here: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/stream/license-overview). Perhaps allowing for this would suffice?

  6. At present, you have to manually set the "Video Language" before closed captions are created. It would be great to be able to set this globally, so that closed captions (and therefore transcripts) are created for all videos by default.

  7. Imagine we have a working stream environment with very active content creators. Over time, we will create a lot of content that will become obsolete over time.

It might be interesting from a governance point of view to explore the implementation of video policies. These video policies are triggered on specific events based on video utilization (e.g. last watch time). The main use case is the deletion of unused videos. Here some ideas about what policies might be able to do:

    • if a video hasn't been watched for more than 1 year, delete it automatically.
    • if a video hasn't been…

  11. I'm using stream to save videos for our teams to take to events, and would like to allow them to download the original source video to a USB stick (for cases when we can't rely on the event wifi).

Could be implemented for all employees or a select group.

  13. Our use case is to use Stream for student video presentations. We currently use YouTube for this purpose, where the video can be 'Unlisted' and viewable only to those people who have the link.

In Stream, we have the option to make the video viewable by anyone in the organisation, or nominated people, channels or groups.

All of the markers might not be known by the students, so it is important that we have an option where students do not need to either nominate each marker individually, or make the video available to anyone in the organisation.

  18. The way it works right now is that it's kind of the wild west and anyone can post anything anywhere. There's no control.

We can restrict who can upload in general, but that breaks Teams meetings recordings. We have our admin level setting so that the allow the who company options is unticked by default, but there's nothing stopping the user from ticking it and making it viewable to the whole company.

We have one user that has upload literally hundreds of videos and just ticket the box for whole company access, just because it was easier to that than to only…

  20. Please add the ability to update and hide the "published by" or "uploader" field from a published Stream video. There are workflows where the video gets uploaded by one person, but it should not show their name and should instead some a generic department name, or some other identifier. For example, company wide town halls should not show the producers name when uploading the video.
