  3. It is extremely tedious and time consuming to manage hundreds of video permissions individually, along with description/language/options/etc. We need a bulk video editor feature to be up to standards with other video streaming platforms.

As it exists today, it is only possible to "edit" 1 video at a time. This does not satisfy the needs our of company.

  4. The ability to curate videos from multiple sources to one channel is increasingly important to create effective learning content for groups. If we can add other public videos by reference to a stream, then we can use this as a platform to curate videos across various sources.

When adding a video, have an option to add an external video URL as the source (Youtube etc.).

  5. This is in context of Corporate Podcasts. Many organizations find that podcasts prove to enhance communications but Stream will only allow you to post media that includes a video stream. While there is a solve for this (i.e. loading as till image as the video stream with the mp3 audio) it requires post productino. Allowing MP3s to be loaded with a thumbnail will provide a much easier option to create corporate podcasting.

  6. I'm using stream to save videos for our teams to take to events, and would like to allow them to download the original source video to a USB stick (for cases when we can't rely on the event wifi).

Could be implemented for all employees or a select group.

  8. The way it works right now is that it's kind of the wild west and anyone can post anything anywhere. There's no control.

We can restrict who can upload in general, but that breaks Teams meetings recordings. We have our admin level setting so that the allow the who company options is unticked by default, but there's nothing stopping the user from ticking it and making it viewable to the whole company.

We have one user that has upload literally hundreds of videos and just ticket the box for whole company access, just because it was easier to that than to only…

  10. Imagine we have a working stream environment with very active content creators. Over time, we will create a lot of content that will become obsolete over time.

It might be interesting from a governance point of view to explore the implementation of video policies. These video policies are triggered on specific events based on video utilization (e.g. last watch time). The main use case is the deletion of unused videos. Here some ideas about what policies might be able to do:

    • if a video hasn't been watched for more than 1 year, delete it automatically.
    • if a video hasn't been…

  11. Notifications by email when any user comments or video content is modified.

As it exists today, users can only 'Follow' Channels and add individual videos to a watchlist.

Neither of these features satisfy the needs of our company.

  12. Sharing video should grant access to Video (like SharePoint\OneDrive)

Currently Owner has to update permission of the video after sharing video with user. It would be easy if clicking "Share" button should update permission for video too (like SharePoint\One Drive).

  14. Working at a University, we have a requirement to store audio as well as video, this will be particularly helpful as and when external access comes for Stream.

  15. After speaking with Premier Support, group permissions for Microsoft Stream can only be managed with new or existing groups created within Teams, SharePoint, etc. However, these permissions don't tie in with mail distribution lists. Users would have to great a new group with the same people from the DL in order to manage Stream permissions. I would love a new feature that sets permissions for a specific Stream to "this DL only".

  17. It would be great if the admins could assign retention periods to videos; or at least have an API to write a workflow to review videos for archival or deletion. Not my idea (orginal idea: https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/microsoft-stream-ideas/video-archival-and-retention/idi-p/88901) just adding it to user voice and casting my vote.

  18. Would be great to be able to integrate in our channel external videos hosted elsewhere based on the URL of the video. Especially Microsoft Training videos which can be share with LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, Skype,... but no STREAM !!! Strange. Would like to be able to gather Microsoft training videos I require for my team on a single stream channel but can't do it !

  19. Since channels are meant to organize videos, If i create a Channel in Teams, it should create a Channel in Stream. So if i upload a video to a channel in my Team, the video would be uploaded to the same channel in Stream.
The same way it does when i upload a file to a channel, it uploads to the folder in the file library.

  20. Students looking at lists of streams can be overwhelmed. If we could organize them into folders by topic/chapter it would be easier for students to find what they are looking for.
