Recording audio only as a new create option
We have a great platform to start storing new kinds of documents that are coming more and more in the companies. Vlogs and Podcasts. These are new way to deliver informations and are more and more on demand in companies.
Storing Podcasts could be great cause we can very offently consider a teams meeting as just a podcast if there is nothing to show. Using ML we could easily extract keyphrases and we could propose to users to follow some keywords and download these 1 or 3 min around the keywords as a daily podcast. That would help in braking silos in the companies. Enable the upload and play of MP3 files without the need of video stream
This is in context of Corporate Podcasts. Many organizations find that podcasts prove to enhance communications but Stream will only allow you to post media that includes a video stream. While there is a solve for this (i.e. loading as till image as the video stream with the mp3 audio) it requires post productino. Allowing MP3s to be loaded with a thumbnail will provide a much easier option to create corporate podcasting.

As a user I would like to be able to lock my screen on the mobile when listening to a recording in Stream. Today the video stops when locking the screen. We're using it for sharing podcasts and would be great if could work with locked screen as well.

Display video description for Stream on SharePoint in playlists as a default column. All my video files have a description in the 'About Video' settings, and I want this column to be mapped or otherwise connected to a 'Description' field in each playlist so I do not have to manually re-type the description in each playlist.

Allow thumbnails to be set based off a timestamp added to a SharePoint Column or Similar
The new implementation of Thumbnails in Stream on SharePoint is really nice (being able to select a frame in the playback window, and set this as the Thumbnail).
However, what would be really incredible would be if we could automate the thumbnail-setting-process, either based off a timestamp entered into a column in the videos' document library, or via an action in a potential future Flow Connector.
The idea is that we could enter a specific timestamp, such as 00:06, and have the frame which is shown at this timestamp be set as the thumbnail for the video.
I produce tutorial videos for my organisation and every video has a title shown at around 6 seconds (following the intro animations). It's a bit tedious having to manually set each thumbnail for every video in every language, when they are always at the same exact timestamp. Currently I have a flow in place to update the video titles, descriptions, language codes, etc, based off of data added to an Excel tracker - but if I could set the thumbnails of all the videos using this flow too, it would be a game changer.

allow for recording part of a screen instead of the entire window or tab
Many times a user will only want to show part of a screen for recording. Please let us size the recording window area

Add and curate external videos like youtube
The ability to curate videos from multiple sources to one channel is increasingly important to create effective learning content for groups. If we can add other public videos by reference to a stream, then we can use this as a platform to curate videos across various sources.
When adding a video, have an option to add an external video URL as the source (Youtube etc.).

Add multiple channel administrators
Currently, if a user creates a Company wide channel, this person (and the Admins) are the only one capable of editing channel details. If this person leaves the company, business users needs to ask to Admin to perform these tasks. They need to be autonomous as much as possible. It would be great to share the ownership of these channels.

Download audio transcripts in usable format
Allowing transcripts (captions) to download in a usable format would be extremely helpful. And allowing us to download to a vtt file that we can't use is kind of a bait and switch--big disappointment.
We do user experience test sessions and market research interviews where we need to go back and refer to what participants actually said and get pull quotes. It's a painstaking process to have to go back through each video.

Currently Owner has to update permission of the video after sharing video with user. It would be easy if clicking "Share" button should update permission for video too (like SharePoint\One Drive).

Groups should allow videos to be "moved" to them acting as a folder, while the main video list acts as general storage. At the institution of higher education where I work, we employ Microsoft products, and I am currently attempting to find a way for faculty to use Teams and Stream to create and share videos. However, certain videos may only need to be shared with individual students for privacy purposes. Given the current function of Stream and the number of videos an instructor might produce over several semesters, having all videos store in one place will eventually make this list cumbersome. Ideally, videos could be moved to individual Groups and permissions set for the video from within the group to restrict who within the group can view the video. This would allow faculty to sort videos based upon the course, but also restrict viewing to individual students as necessary.

Leverage existing O365 mail distribution lists for Stream group permissions
After speaking with Premier Support, group permissions for Microsoft Stream can only be managed with new or existing groups created within Teams, SharePoint, etc. However, these permissions don't tie in with mail distribution lists. Users would have to great a new group with the same people from the DL in order to manage Stream permissions. I would love a new feature that sets permissions for a specific Stream to "this DL only".

Add the speed option in the stream player
We use MS stream to listen to lecture recording and we direly need the option for increasing speed. We suggest you, to add this feature in MS Stream.

Make it possible to start a video from within the new Steam SharePoint page
I visited the new Stream page built on SharePoint, but it is impossible to use this for anything except presenting video's. There is no functionality for making video instructions. Until this is available, the new Stream is basically useless.

Alphabetical order of languages in MS Stream
The list of languages displayed in the drop-down is not in alphabetical order which is quite user-unfriendly. "Deutsch" sits between "Galicisch" and "Gujarati" and several other languages also appear in the wrong order.
I guess, that the root cause lies in the fact that the original list of languageswas set up in English and the order was not amended afterwards.

Schedule video publishing time in Stream
It would be such a huge improvement if we could upload a video an then set a time and date for it to be published automaticly. Facebook's got this function. Why not Stream?
